This course explores the variety of ways to study health education and literacy within the public school system and beyond. This topic will be of interest to other professionals who work in community health education as well as teachers.
For their projects, students will tailor their research to areas of particular interest and geographic location.

This course explores special topics in health education including contemporary issues of accessibility and relevance to specific groups. Students will gain a foundational knowledge of various contemporary health topics. Student interests will direct the study but could include an environmental focus, gender and health issues, sex education, nutrition, ethnicity, poverty, or social justice issues.
Various issues arising in the delivery of Health Education topics will be addressed and will inform the educational practice within, although not be limited to, teaching in the B.C. school system.
