Becoming a Leader in the Use of Digital Technologies

The Faculty of Education is committed to becoming a leader in the use of digital technologies for the support of teaching and learning.

The Learning Technologies division of EPLT champions such applications within the Faculty and in a set of strategic collaborations with partners at UBC and beyond. Collaborative projects are coordinated by the Digital Learning Partnership. Current projects include the following activities:

• Facilitating 15 technology pilot projects
• Working with Education faculty and the Teacher Education Office to help teacher education students acquire technological skills and perspectives needed for today’s schools
• Making laptop computers more accessible for instructional purposes to faculty
• Supporting the Tech Coach program and professional development with sessional instructors
• Developing e-portfolios for Master of Education programs
