CERTIFICATE programs

Infant Development and Supported Child Development

This program offers a Certificate and a Diploma option, both of which are intended for two groups of professionals:

  • Infant Development Consultants who work with children and their families who require extra support from birth to age three, primarily in the child's home setting, and
  • Supported Child Development Consultants who work with children and their families who require extra support up to age 19, primarily in child care settings.

Certificate Program Courses

The certificate program consists of 5 required online courses, as follows. Please note the pre-requisites indicated.

Diploma Program Option

The Diploma program consists of the five certificate courses along with 5 additional courses, drawn from an approved list. Click on the course number to view the UBC Course Calendar.

    Once you have completed the five courses, you will need to apply for the Certificate from our office.

    It may be possible to apply EPLT's certificate courses to the Faculty of Education's Diploma in Education. If you are considering applying these courses (including those you wish to transfer from other institutions) to a Diploma in Education, now or at a later date, check the Diploma in Education webpage for details and instructions on how to apply. You are encouraged to do this before beginning your EPLT certificate program.
